The backstory.

My name is Francisco Estrada. I spent close to a decade in performance marketing, most of it at two companies that shaped how I think about the craft. The Agora, one of the largest direct-response publishers in the world, is where I learned to play with real budgets. Every click had a P&L attached, every campaign had a daily target, and there was zero tolerance for "let's see how it performs." The Insiders, a major SaaS platform, is where I learned to build scalable marketing systems across multiple European markets.

The whole time, I was helping businesses on the side. Friends, referrals, people who needed someone to actually look at their ads and tell them the truth. Those companies paid the bills, but the side projects taught me what business owners actually need: not a deck, not a dashboard, not a quarterly review. They need someone who picks up the phone, shows them the numbers, and says "this is working, this isn't, here's what we're changing tomorrow."

Over the years, I watched the same pattern repeat. Businesses would hire an agency. The agency would send a pretty deck with words like "synergy" and "omnichannel" and "full-funnel optimization." Three months later, the business owner would have a lighter wallet, a bloated dashboard nobody looked at, and zero idea whether their ads actually worked.

I kept thinking: this is not that hard. Not the marketing part. That's genuinely hard. The honesty part. Telling a client "this campaign isn't working, let's kill it" instead of hiding behind a vanity metric. Showing them the actual numbers, not a curated version. Picking up the phone when something breaks instead of waiting for the next "monthly sync."

So I stopped thinking about it and just did it.

When I told my colleagues I was building Marketing Guy, the response wasn't "good luck." It was "finally. When you do, I'm in." These are people I'd worked in the trenches with for years. Media buyers, designers, SEO specialists, CRM architects. People who are really good at one thing and tired of working inside agencies that make them do six things badly.
